Jean Marc, Human Resources Manager at SPIE, takes a personal interest in young people who have dropped out of school or are looking for jobs.

Jean-Marc sits on admission panels for the Greater Lille Second Chance School (France) which provides assistance to promote the lasting professional and social integration of young people who have left the school system without any qualifications or jobs.

In addition to its involvement with the Second Chance School, SPIE is also partnering Institut Lillois d’Education Permanente (France) which aims to help early school leavers into jobs. “We have already taken on eight young people on professional training contracts and we’re going to take others on sandwich-type contracts as part of a new partnership with this Institute and the local job centre.”

Diversity

Diversity, driving development

At SPIE we consider diversity to be an integral part of corporate social responsibility and a driver for our development.

SPIE believes that diversity can bring out new skills that can help develop wealth and efficiency.

By acknowledging difference, we can help build a climate of trust and achieve better working conditions.

Diversity also enhances the company's image among its existing and future employees, its customers and its partners.

Promoting diversity

Promoting diversity involves concrete measures:

  • spreading awareness of our commitment by making the "SPIE Diversity Charter" as widely available as possible,
  • choosing four priorities: i.e. to improve the employment situation for disabled workers, to acieve a better workplace gender ratio, to provide a better balanced representation of the generations in the workplace and to ensure that employees are of diverse origins,
  • drawing up action plans completed with indicators to be put in place gradually for monitoring within individual subsidiaries.

The Diversity Committee, whose members include representatives of Group subsidiaries, is responsible for promoting SPIE's commitment and tracking the progress of the actions conducted.
