A message from the Human Resources Director
Welcome to our HR website, which we have created to give you an initial snapshot of our Group, careers, values, commitments to staff and, more broadly, our corporate social responsibility. Our human resources policy plays a key role in achieving our ambition, defining our strategy and supporting the resulting organisational model.
Our ambition is to focus on the disciplines in which we excel – local technical services – and to be a European leader in this sector. This field demands a highly developed sense of customer service, its technical aspect requires a taste for concrete achievement, and leadership involves a desire to reach our objectives, an entrepreneurial spirit and setting an example for our colleagues and employees.
In this type of work, results depend exclusively on the performance of the men and women who make up the company. It is therefore vital that they be given opportunities to enhance their skills – by, for example, providing training, frequently assigning them new projects and jointly planning new stages in their careers.
Our strategy is based on two factors: internal growth, which means increasing sales and profitability within our current scope of operations; and external growth, which means acquiring companies that contribute either new skills or wider geographic coverage.
To foster internal growth, we regularly hire employees who share our ambition and values, while external growth brings in people from recently acquired companies. In both cases, we pay particular attention to integrating new personnel.
Our organisational model is based on our close proximity to customers and on the supervision of small teams. Daily personnel management is therefore local. This means that the manager in the field is the primary human resources manager and his or her daily behaviour – in the areas of job safety and ability to motivate, develop and retain staff, for example – is the key to our success.
Moreover, because we are a Group and not just a conglomerate of decentralised entities, we can offer our employees the best of both worlds: real responsibility for tangible work and an opportunity to advance in a large multinational, multidisciplinary company through geographic or professional mobility.
In addition to conveying the high quality of our processes in the areas of integration, skill development, training, mobility and career management, I hope I have shared with you my conviction that our human resources policy is simple and practical, that it reflects SPIE’s culture and that it is based on close relations with our employees and a sense of responsibility in everything we do.
Enjoy the site and, if you find a job that matches your goals, go ahead and apply!
